Local Brand crankDNA on the Road to Success

It’s 2010 and local Novocastrian Simon Jones is frantically searching for the perfect t-shirt as a gift for a friend. Totally uninspired by what he found (or didn’t find), Jones had a lightbulb moment: why not source some local talent and combine it with his own funky designs to create his very own line of the perfect tees? Thus, CrankDNA was born.

CrankDNA feature a cheeky and bright line of cycling-inspired tees and hoodies, channelling inspiration from road cycling, mountain biking, BMX and fixies. The local company uses the Gildan brand of t-shirt, producing a high quality and vibrant makes for adults and children alike.

Initially based on eBay, Jones utilised his seven years experience in trading and a loyal fan base to evolve the brand to its very own website, who provide “professional, efficient fast shipping and great customer support”

And for a great cause! crankDNA proudly supports Safe Cycling Australia (SCA) in it’s endeavors to promote a safer cycling environment, by donating a percentage of the profits from a selected range of garments.

What’s next for crankDNA?  The brand “aims to be an online presence known globally for the quality and unique designs of their bicycle themed t-shirts and hoodies”. And to provide cycling-enthusiast gift-seekers some relief as well no doubt!
