Unfortunately cancer continues to affect more and more people of all ages from all across the world. With no known cure it is crucial for charities, such as the Cancer Council, to continue to raise awareness and raise funds for cancer research, prevention and support services.

‘Relay For Life’ is a great charity event that not only seeks to raise money but  also helps encourage the community to ‘Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back’ for all those people who have passed away from cancer, beaten cancer, who are still suffering cancer today, as well as all their family and friends.

Having started in the USA in 1985, Relay For Life made it’s way to Australia in 1999. The Family, fun-filled event is a moving overnight experience which helps bring the whole community together.

In 2013 the total money raised for the Cancer Council was over $24 million. This year, Maitland’s ‘Relay For Life’ goal is currently set at $250,000.

So organise and register a team today, and start fundraising!
