Frogfest 2012: A Celebration of Progressive Folk Music

An amphibious celebration of progressive folk music, FrogFest is touring NSW, ACT and VIC throughout May. The lineup features The Crooked Fiddle Band, Mr Fibby, BOB (featuring Ben Hauptmann), Dave Carr’s Fabulous Contraption and James Kemp. If you like folk music, you will definitely love this show ! The celebration will take place at the Cambridge hotel and it will start at 6h30pm. Tickets are currently available from the Cambridge hotel for $12 and they will also be available at the door for $15.

Saturday 12th of May

Groovin’ the Moo

Groovin the Moo is delivering its biggest ever lineup this year! With over 10 international acts it will be a fantastic show! There will be bands from Sweden, Germany, Canada, America and England. If you don’t already have a ticket, a few people are still selling tickets online on several websites. The show will take place at Maitland Showground and will start at 11am, so make sure you get there a bit early to avoid massive cues. Groovin’ the moo always is a great event and with the fantastic lineup this year will be even better!

Daniel Meriweather @ Bar on the Hill

Artist Voice are extremely excited to announce the highly anticipated national tour for Daniel Merriweather!

In addition to a national capital city run with Kimbra, Daniel will be taking in selected University shows around the east coast of Australia playing familiar as well as new tunes from his forthcoming sophomore release. Thursday 17th of May

 Harry Manx @ Lizottes

Harry Manx is playing at 7pm on Thursday the 17th of May at Lizottes. He is an amazing artist definitely worth watching! He has created a unique sound that is hard to forget and deliciously addictive to listen to.

Manx is a prolific artist, releasing nine albums in an eight-year span with no signs of stopping. He has received seven Maple Blues Awards, six Juno nominations, the Canadian Folk Music Award in 2005 for Best Solo Artist and won CBC Radio’s “Great Canadian Blues Award” in 2007.

Tickets are $64 for the show only or you can also get tickets fro $120 for both the show and dinner. Tickets are available from the venue.

 Jazz Factory @ Great Northern Hotel

The band will be playing on Thursday the 17th of May at the Great Northern Hotel and the show will start at 7h30pm. Entry is free! If you are a Jazz Fan, you will absolutely love this band!

Mickey Avalon & Kid Mac @ Fanny’s

Mickey Avalon (USA) and Kid Mac (Sydney) will both be putting on a show at 8pm at Fanny’s Nightclub on Thursday the 17th of May!

Mickey Avalon is an American rapper from Hollywood, California. He’s contagious demeanor and unique writing style has made him a hot commodity in the music industry. His music has been featured in countless movies and television series including the HBO’s series Hung, the animated series American Dad and most recently in the trailers for the Cameron Diaz film “Bad Teacher.” Mickey Avalon simply appeals to voyeuristic side of all of us that want to indulge and let loose.

Kid Mac has carved a name for himself in the Australian music scene with a sound that sets him apart from other artists. His lyrics capture the experiences of today’s youth, super catchy sing along melodies, dance floor beats and a fine-tuned live presence.

He will also be playing at Fanny’s on Thursday the 17th of May.

TZU is a talented band from Melbourne that will be playing at the Cambridge Hotel this coming thursday the 17th of May at The Cambridge Hotel. The show will start at 8pm and tickets are$17.90 and available from the venue.
