Yes! The weekend is so close! With plenty of live acts, foodie fun and family activities we’re very excited to show what we have planned for you over the next seven days.

Friday 18th May

Broadway Mile

It’s amazing how much a band can accomplish in just one year. In the last twelve months, Broadway Mile have shared the stage with the likes of You Am I, Gypsy & The Cat, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Sparkadia, The Holidays, The Trews (CAN), Lydia (USA) and Bluejuice. This was on the back of the success of their highly anticipated debut EP ‘Now You Know’ which was recorded with Sonny Truelove (Sienna Skies, Joywave, Angelas Dish).

Broadway Mile will be headlining a show in their hometown of Newcastle on Friday the 18th of May at The Cambridge Hotel. The show will start at 8pm and tickets are $10. They’ll be supported by Jade Gannon, Empra (VIC) and The Soorleys. All details can be found at www.facebook.com/broadwaymile. Lead Vocalist Tim Broadway says “These shows are going to be a great chance for us to road test some new material against older songs to see how they match up. So far we’ve heard a lot of good things about the new music that we’re creating which is a real confidence boost for us while we prepare to record again”.

Resist The Thought @ The Loft

Since 2007, Sydney’s *Resist The Thought* have been carefully engraving their name into the Australian metal scene. Thanks to a relentless touring ethos which found them forever on the road and sharing stages with the likes of Suicide Silence, The Acacia Strain and All Shall Perish, Resist The Thought garnered enough momentum to propel themselves overseas to Lambesis Studios in Escondido, CA to work with reputed producer Dan Castleman (As I Lay Dying, Impending Doom) on their debut album, Sovereignty.

To celebrate the release, the boys will hit the road with special guests Hallower this winter, spreading good cheer and brutal breakdowns to regional and capital cities alike. *Resist The Thought* are blazing their own path and leaving a trail of ashes in their wake. Be sure to witness the flames when they scorch a venue near you!

The aim of this ball would be to raise $50,000 for Multiple Sclerosis Limited, a not-for-profit organisation that provides funding for research, specialist treatments, rehabilitation and support for those with MS, their families and carers.

Multiple Sclerosis is a devastating disease that affects the nervous system, with its cause currently unknown and no cure available for its sufferers. This cause is very important to the Newcastle MS Ball team as one of their committee members, Justice Campbell, has been diagnosed with the disease early last year at the age of only 19. This Ball is a great way to show support to Justice and all other sufferers of the disease.

The Newcastle MS Ball will be a wonderful night for all who attend, with great food and drinks, entertainment, fundraising raffles and auctions.
