Photographing Dudley

Photos of Dudley, Newcastle

I had scoped out Dudley Beach as a possible location many times before - it looks good even from top-down on Google Maps! It wasn’t until now that I actually managed to get myself down there though. True to form for a Newcastle beach, it’s a beautiful spot. Stretching far along the water’s edge, the lack of development makes you feel a lot further from the city than you really are. The southern rocks were already covered in shadow when I arrived, so I shot the northern end instead. The southern rocks will have to wait until I summon the energy for a sunrise shoot. The weather turned out some spectacular colours for me and definitely made the trip worthwhile.

Each week “The Grid” features photos of a selected area of the Newcastle & Hunter region, capturing moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
