Soul Foods of Newcastle Grand Opening!

Do Moroccan style eggs, char grilled capsicum or coconut quinoa porridge sound like better breakfast alternatives than cereal and milk? How about a gourmet quiche or a slice of fresh lasagne for lunch? Sounds nice, but you’d rather not start your day off munching on processed eggs or eating a fat-filled heavy lunch, right?

Well dig in because Hunter Street’s newest addition Soul Foods of Newcastle now means you can wave goodbye to processed food and additives because everything they use is home grown. Not only are the ingredients Australian, but most of the organic vegetables and herbs they use are actually grown by their own horticulturist. All their produce is sourced from within a 160K radius of Newcastle.

For those of you with a sweet tooth, Soul Foods also has a large range of cakes and slices that are baked daily and made from locally milled Fosterton Farm Bio dynamic flour. Even the packaging is echo friendly, made of raw materials such as plant matter, starch and sugar cane mulch Soul Foods has made their new cafe as carbon neutral as possible.

With a menu that changes daily depending on the available fresh produce and a range of exciting salads, Thai fish cakes and frittatas the anticipation of trying new foods never ends. This means maintaining a healthy diet has finally become interesting and sustainable and all here on our Newcastle doorstep.

Located at: 227 Hunter Street, Newcastle

Grand Opening: 7am, Thursday the 16th of May 2013
