On Saturday 21st May, Delta Riggs will be at the CBD Hotel playing ‘their rootsy soul, ramshackle R’n’B, stunning gospel harmonies and swaggering blues.’ Entry is freeeeee! Make sure you get down to see this amazing live band.

Also on the 21st & 22nd May, Wyndham Estate will be hosting the ultimate tasting session to meet your tastebuds! This indulgent, Wine and Chocolate tasting session is open to the public and for a tiny price of $5 per person for tasting.  You will experience the finest of wines and the latest chocolate release from Nestle.  Bookings are essential!

Gypsy & The Cat are also adding to what’s on Saturday 21st May.  Playing at the Cambridge Hotel, Gypsy & The Cat have made quite an impression on the Australian music industry with 3 songs from their debut album, Gilgamesh, making it into the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2010.  For more info & tickets.

Folk-rock band, Boy & Bear, will be hitting the Bar on the Hill on Tuesday 31st May as part of their national tour.  With their dreamy cover, ‘Fall At Your Feet’ making the number 5 song in the 2010 Triple J Hottest 100, the boys have certainly made quite a mark on the Australian music scene.  Tickets are on sale now for a small price of $23!

Friday 13 May

The Cambridge Hotel is opening it’s doors to British India on their ‘March into the Ocean’ tour.  The Aussie lads spent the last part of twenty-ten in the UK promoting their very first UK EP and are back home to keep on rocking.  Doors open at 8.30pm.  For more info and tickets.

Saturday 14 May

The Hunter Valley’s annual Lovedale Long Lunch is on again.  Local wine connoisseurs from Newcastle and the Central Coast will be heading in droves to the Hunter Valley for wine tasting, great food and live entertainment.  Run over Saturday and Sunday,  meal tickets can still be purchased and used at any vineyard.  There are 7 vineyards participating in the event and the delicious menus can be found online.

If you are looking for some live music after  Lovedale, The Great Northern is hosting a wacky combination of country, horror music with guests The Graveyard Train, Brother Grim and Tommy Nine Fingers.  The gig starts at 9pm and tickets are a small 12 clams.

From 4pm this Saturday at the Wickham Park Hotel, get ready for a “From Africa to Jamaica” live show.  This event is family friendly and children are welcome.  Afro Moses Spirit Solo and 3 piece Mobafo traditional instrument group from Africa will be taking you staight to Africa.  Also playing, Barias Massaque from Mozambique and Fode Mane from Senegal, adding to this wonderful African experience.  Expect a bright, colourful show full of traditional African music, a great cultural experience for everyone!

Sunday 15 May

It’s freebie time!  If you are still on a high from Lovedale, or just looking for something to do on Sunday night, Timmy Trumpet is playing a gig at the King St Hotel.  Entry is free and doors open at 8pm.

Wednesday 18 May

Wednesday night fun is to be had at the Cambridge Hotel. ‘Antics’  is a great excuse for guys and gals to get together with cheap drinks and listen to live music, play disc jockey or a game of pool.  This week’s live music performers include, Dalis Angels, Teal and The Hedonist.
