The Total Performance Centre, located in Newcastle’s Hunter st mall, is a privately owned fitness studio specialising in Soft Tissue Therapy, Personal Training and Spin Classes.

The studio focus’ on and aims to run an informative and individualised experience for each of their clients.

Owner, Michael Rand, has recently established the Total Performance Centre after spending 22 years in the Air Force as an Aircraft Technician. With 8 years experience in Soft Tissue Therapy Michael combines passion and knowledge into each treatment.

Unlike your typical gym or physiotherapist, the Soft Tissue Therapy or Remedial Massage,  looks at assessing your movement in order to specifically cater to your needs whilst educating you on the situation. Rand adds, ‘Our goal is to fix your injury and never see you about it again’.

Ranging from ages of 25 years to 65 years, the Total Performance Centre offers a wide range of various spin classes in order to cater to everybody at all levels. The team also offer a Performance Test class which  helps to follow an individual’s progression and allows them to personalise their spin class each and every workout. In addition, the Total Performance Centre showcases the Retul Bike which enables customers to be specifically fitted for a bike for optimum performance, efficiency, injury prevention and comfort.

Last Saturday the Total Performance Centre successfully held their first Fundraising event, Tour De Lounge, raising $300 for the Leukemia Foundation. Inspired by Ivy, a client’s daughter, the studio is aiming to hold a charity night every month. Next month’s charity of choice will be the Autism Foundation.

The charity night attracted a number of clients and friends who, as well as taking part in a raffle giving away prizes donated by local businesses, also took part in a spin class on the night.

In addition to the monthly charity nights Michael has offered to donate 50cents each time a customer checks in to the fitness studio or shares their page on Facebook.

Michael’s aim is to create a community based environment which he believes ‘you don’t see anywhere anymore. I want people to walk in with a smile, not to be afraid to walk past and say hi, and leave feeling re-energised and productive with their day’.
