Every Sunday night, Newcastle's favourite nightclub, King Street, hosts Any Given Sunday. A crazy party with free entry to end your previously chilled out Sunday session, this is sure to please & entertain! If you need to sober up before work as well, 24 hour Maccas is oh so conveniently just across the road..
If you want to continue your Sunday as chilled out as possible, The Great Northern is the place to go. 'Sunday Best' with the Gentlemen DJ's, sees Novocastrians arrive in their Sunday best outfits to listen to vintage reggae, soul, r'n'b rocksteady & ska. Free entry from 5pm till 10pm.
I'm sure all the seasoned Newcastle locals have heard of the Sunday specials at the Prince. And if you haven't, have you been living under a rock? $10 schnitzels all day, plus $4 Cruisers, $5 Coronas, live music downstairs from 6pm & if you're keen for something a little more hectic, DJs upstairs from 6pm.
Spend your Sunday on the Wharf while the Brewery lines up a number of acts for your Sunday Funday. With live bands on the Wharf Stage in the afternoon, followed by DJs on the Waterfront till late!
If you don't feel like cooking your Sunday roast today, take the family to the Mary Ellen where you can pick up a roast special for just $11.90. Best part is, take the kids after 6pm & they eat for free. Also indulge in some imported beers while you're there, with selected imports just $5.
Needing some greasy food to overcome that horrible feeling following a Saturday night out? Head out to Wallsend & avoid the crowds (& the people still drinking) to pick up a big breakfast for just $13! Make sure you set that alarm though because it's just from 9-11am. Stick around after brekky as well for your chance to win up to $5000 in the Diggers Draw (have to be member, but as if it takes long to sign up!)
The Salt & Pepper Bistro in Cardiff Panthers offers fantastic deals on a Sunday! With specials that are just $10.90, you can really indulge in some great modern Australian cuisine. And yes, it is a very family friendly venue with free activity bags, Playstations & other play areas for the little ones.
Imagine cutting into a succulent chicken breast schnitzel right now? The crisp golden coating surrounding the tender white meat inside, taking a bite into a golden chip, washing it down with an ice cold craft beer. Hungry yet? Head to the Albion Hotel Sunday nights for $10 schnitzels! I'm not 100% sure, but I have heard they are the best you can get in Newcastle.. Also screening live sport for all you sport freaks!
