My favourite has already been mentioned. The warm vegetable and haloumi salad from The Depot on Darby is truly delicious. I order it every single time I go there and am never disappointed. Sometimes it is risky to order the same dish twice as it can ruin your initial delight. Depot delivers every time!

Please add “Sunny’s” at 86 Maitland Road, Islington.

Thanks for the suggestion Art, I’ll be sure to check it out! What’s your favourite dish there?

Anna Shelly

Muchos, would you like cheese with your cheese!!

When at sunny’s you’ve got to try the beans w/ poached eggs!!! A bit of an oversight missing sunny’s considering it’s the only exclusively vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Newcastle.

Sunny’s Cafe!!!! - not only vegetarian/vegan but all organic. Favs everything - protein salad, curries and the all day breakfasts!!!

Have not been to Sunnys for awhile. A favourite was called ‘Heartstarter’. It is all-vegetarian cafe - near corner of Beamount St/Maitland Rd at Iso.

Sounds fantastic, I have no idea how I’ve never heard of it. Will investigate ASAP.

Hi there Amanda, thanks for your comment. Have you checked out our map guide to vegetarian eating in Newcastle? http://www.urbaninsider.com.au/uimap/best-vegetarian-friendly-places-to-eat/

Add Sunny’s. I think it’s the only other completely vegetarian cafe in Newcastle. I think the name might have changed? Everyone knows it as Sunny’s. Maitland Rd. Islington, near Beaumont St.
